Pen Press are pleased to announce the release of Death and Deceit, the new novella by local author Val Wingrove.

Billed as “A moving story of love and betrayal, intrigue and murder, with the action swapping seamlessly between London and Maro, a small village on the Costa del Sol” – the book will be launched on 27th May at All That Jazz, Playa Burriana, Nerja, where Val will be signing copies between 5pm and 7pm. About the book: A young woman discovers she has only a few months left to live. She decides to leave her home, her art business and her friends to face whatever comes along, and travels to the tranquillity of Maro, a place that is so dear to her heart. At the same time a young man is found dead, murdered in a London hotel room. Investigating the crime, Inspector Tim Walters and Sergeant Nobby Clarke stumble upon a serious fraud; at first it would seem one has no connection with the other, but as the investigation unravels could artistic and economic worlds have collided with tragic results? About the author: Val Wingrove was born in Ireland and seems to have inherited that Irish tradition for storytelling; this gift was honed by writing and telling stories to her children when they were young. Val now divides her time between her home in Surrey and frequent visits to Spain. She has drawn on her knowledge of the Costa del Sol, particularly Maro, to paint a vivid picture that many readers will instantly recognise. Death and Deceit is her first novel.
