The beach has various entrances to the parking areas that are well signposted and you can access the beach via the N-340 coast road. This coast road is surrounded with orchards and market gardens that add to the beautiful scenery. Finding a space is quite easy since very few people visit the beach. There are also several restaurants and you can watch how paella is being made. There are more pebbles found on certain parts of the Playa Playazo and other parts of the beach consist predominantly of fine, grayish sand. Kiting and windsurfing seem to be a fun activity that can be carried out on Playa Playazo but there are no water sports operators, however, there is a children's play area and a beach football pitch.
There are hotels and apartment complexes that are easily accessible from Playa Playazo especially the section of beach nearest to Nerja. Playa de la Torrecilla can be seen from a viewing platform that marks the boundary between the beaches.
Several sun loungers and umbrellas are available for rent at the western end of the beach the Paraiso de Nerja. Lifeguards monitor sections of the beach From May to October. There are several quiet spots at the Playa Playazo central section where is peaceful, furthermore the tourist service facilities is not too far away.
